Growth dynamics and seasonal prevalence of Crepidostomum isostomum and Phyllodistomum pearsei in Aphredoderus sayanus

CA Elkins and KC Corkum

ABSTRACT

A trematode survey of pirate perch, Aphredoderus sayanus, in Louisiana demonstrated a seasonal periodicity of Crepidostomum isostomum with regard to prevalence, worm burden, and maturation. The prevalence of Phyllodistomum pearsei showed no discernable periodicity and only the worn development followed a seasonal pattern.
